FAQs

What is edibl?

A UK cricket protein company — we farm, we process, and we help brands build products with what we grow.

Are your crickets safe for human food use?

Yes. Grown and processed under human food-grade conditions, approved by North Norfolk District Council. Safe for all human food applications.

What products and formats do you supply?

Cricket protein powder, whole cricket, and white-label formats including protein shakes, bakery blends, mince, burgers, and custom concepts.

Do you offer white-label services?

Yes — ingredient-only, co-development, or near turn-key white-label depending on your stage and goals.

Can cricket protein be used in pet food?

Yes — successfully trialled in wet, fresh-frozen, and treat formats, under human food-grade conditions.

What is frass and how is it used?

Frass is the nutrient-rich by-product of cricket farming — rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and chitin. A potent organic soil improver and plant health booster.

What allergens should we know about?

Cricket ingredients may not be suitable for people with crustacean, shellfish, or dust mite allergies — they share the same allergen family.

What are your MOQs and lead times?

MOQs from 40kg for trials through to 5 tonnes+. Lead times from 3–4 weeks post final spec, depending on volume and schedule.

Are your products UK novel foods compliant?

Yes — we operate compliance-ready and can provide documentation and full technical packs for your team.

How do we start?

Share your product goal, target market, volume, and timeline — we'll come back with a practical route, fast.
