Building the future with crickets

edibl farms crickets here in the UK — and turns them into high-performance protein for food brands, bakeries, restaurants, and beyond. Vertically integrated. Regulatory-cleared. Built from the ground up.

What we do

From farm to finished product — we supply quality UK-grown cricket protein and help innovative brands build with it.

Ingredient supply

UK-grown cricket protein powder and whole cricket. Designed for functional performance, cleaner labels, and confident sourcing. Food-grade, traceable, and ready to integrate.

White-label NPD

We don't just supply the ingredient — we'll help you build the product. Formulation, product architecture, and routes to market across protein shakes, bakery blends, and custom formats.

Regulatory & traceability

Grown and processed under human food-grade conditions, inspected and approved by North Norfolk District Council. Full provenance, compliance-ready documentation, and technical support as standard.

OTHER APPLICATIONS

🐾 Pet food

Premium cricket protein for wet, fresh-frozen, and treat formats — made under human food-grade conditions. Supports "made with human food grade ingredients" claims. Expert formulation and palatability guidance available.

🌱 Frass

The nutrient-rich by-product of every production cycle. Rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and chitin — a potent organic soil improver and plant health booster. Nothing from our farm goes to waste.

🔬 R&D & co-development

Joint innovation, PhD collaborations, and grant-backed projects. We're actively advancing the science — and we bring partners in on that journey.

Why cricket protein?

A complete, functional ingredient — with a fraction of the environmental footprint of conventional protein sources.

Now classed as a Tier 1 innovation by the UK's Food Standards Agency.

Complete nutrition

Very high protein content and containing all nine essential amino acids. Strong bioavailability. Minerals and B vitamins that conventional proteins often lack. Great for human health and performance.

Far lower footprint

Less land, less water, dramatically fewer emissions — per kg of protein — than any mainstream livestock source. Locally produced in the UK, for local consumption. Minimising our food system's footprint.

A circular ingredient

Every production cycle yields protein, frass, and co-products. Nothing is wasted and so we have multiple value streams. This is a circular food system that doesn't rely upon imports, boosts soil & plant health, and every output has a valued use.

Animal agriculture has become one of the largest contributing factors to climate change and deforestation. For example, pet food accounts for one quarter of the environmental impact of meat production.

edibl’s crickets are produced far more sustainably than other feed ingredients, such as beef, pork and chicken. Incorporating edibl crickets into food as an ingredient can significantly reduce its carbon footprint, whilst maintaining the same quality of protein.
